It boggles my mind, that on the opposition station to FOX, they are running beaucoup clips of Limbaugh and Beck laughing about retarded people . . . and not a peep from Palin. Probably not much of an issue for Sean Hannity, either. Is this the height of hypocrisy? Is it worse that hypocrisy? Does some social welfare agency need to save that baby from her? Is she unfit by using her kids the way she does?

Thanks for the clarification, Nancy. My nearly 2,000 posts certainly expose my interest in what goes on on TTS, but I just got the sudden spate of "F___ing retard" threads mixed up. Who's got the obsession with "f____ing retard" anyway? And does that say anything about him/her/them?

But, back to the subject(s). I think he's talking about Obama here. If he thinks Obama is a "f____ing retard," as his/her/their post title implies . . . what was Bush for embroiling us in Iraq and wrecking the economy?

I hope Palin stays on Rahm about this. what I find even more amazing is that the media and most wwriters have completely ignored the use of the f-word. I am no prude but I really find the use of both words to call people in this country something like this to be equally as reprehensible. When Obama talked of civility at the national Prayer Breakfast, it was clear he was talking about the Right, not his own administration.

I've been on this message board for about 2 weeks. As a new comer I can say that the level of conversation here is pretty low.
My anecdotal observation is that one person, under a batch of pseudonyms, hijacks the majority of threads and turns them into silly pissing matches between so called "liberals" and "conservatives". I can honestly say that after 2 weeks that this individual(s) has disinterested me in this entire square. Unfortunately there are thoughtful people from every perspective who are drowned out by this retarded behavior. There, I said it, whoever is doing it really needs to get a life. There's more to this world than meaningless political food fights.

The troll problem has been discussed quite a bit. This is not an unmoderated forum, but it's moderated with a light touch. There was a time when we did have a moderator, but budget cuts at the JS made it impossible for them to be as vigilant as they once were. I think, and I'm not alone in this opinion, that the trolls are people who were ejected from the forum back in the days when the moderator did this kind of thing. I think the use of multiple identities started as a way to beat the moderator and now this individual just thinks he's being clever.

In any case, I think it's good to have as many people as possible posting with their own voices and opinions. There will still be arguments and some might become heated, but they'll be genuine arguments and not just provocation from trolls followed by frustrated responses.
