They sure sucked last night. It was like watching a badly choreographed pro wrestling match. It had to have been live. No band in their right mind would have played what we heard if they had a chance for some do overs. I don't think I can refer to them as the greatest rock and roll band in the world anymore.Hot

I was shocked by how obese Roger Daltry has become.

I saw The Who 41 years ago, performing with BB King and the Jefferson Airplane. They were great, 41 years ago. I don't believe that aging rockers should hang it up as long as they are still generating fresh material, but The Who started disintegrating more than 30 years ago and had disbanded by the early '80s. At this point, half the original band is dead and the other two do oldies shows and benefit concerts. When I heard that they were doing the Superbowl halftime show, I couldn't believe it. I didn't watch it. I didn't have to watch it to know it would be awful.

It was pretty bad. It's the Super Bowl. Their voices are shot. There's nothing wrong with getting old and not being able to perform up to your old standards....that's natural....but seriously.....they should not have been on the Super Bowl half time show. Sometimes you can't go back and you have to move on. Time for the Who to move on. It would be like watching me run the bases after I hit the softball now....compared to when I was 25....I don't move the same....I would look silly...they couldn't move the same...they were trying and it looked silly. Thank goodness for You Tube so the kids who saw that could at least see how they use to do it.

That was a bad performance. I think they should let the team's cheerleaders do a show at halftime. Too much hype over the entertainment. If they got over 100 million with the Who, I think the game is enough. Unless of course millions of people were tuning in just to see the music.

Since everyone watches the Super Bowl I wonder who picks the halftime entertainment. The Who was a really bad choice from the get go and then they played. It was really bad. I am surprised they didn't do an aid for Haiti tribute thing.

Don't outsmart your common sense.

Maybe it's because they probably got paid 30 million dollars to play. If I were them I would turn that down. Have some respect for the legends. This is kinda like that really old quarterback that almost gave the Vikings a superbowl visit. Packers don't need him! That ole fart did a better job handling the Saints than the Colts did.

I stayed in the living room and watched the half time show because I was a big fan of The Who in my younger years. I also thought that Roger looked "puffy" in the face, but the rest of him didn't match. (that sounds odd now that I've written it) They sounded awful, but then again, I was used to listening to their studio quality records. It was still very entertaining to watch Pete Townsend circle his arm around the guitar! It made me want to dig out my old albums...especially Quadrophenia.

Good question, but can you remember a Super Bowl halftime that wasn't an embarrassment?

I think it's bad so people can go to the bathroom. Everyone stays to watch the commercials, and some MAINLY watch the commercials. So you have to build a break in somewhere.

A few years back the Rolling Stones did a pretty good job and so did Tom Petty. I didn't expect too much from the Who. Pete Townshend still looked pretty cool, but his stomach kept showing and that was bothering me.

You would turn down $30 million dollars. The Troll thinks not and that Ted Anthony likes to make judgements of others that if he were in that position he wouldn't make himself. Ted, the kids are alright, but with silly things like that to say, we won't get fooled again by anything you write.

First of all, I may be the only one here who is NOT a WHO fan by virtue of the fact that just about everyone who's posted before me is ripping them a new one for various reasons. I thought the halftime show was fine, actually better than fine. For a moment though, I was a little worried that I'd see a nipple pop out of that guitarist's shirt. Now, THAT would have certainly gotten the attention of the FCC. Oh wait, that would deja vu all over again, and we can't have that.

Whether you're a WHO fan or not, you have to give the band kudos FOR PERFORMING LIVE! How many bands have we all seen on TV where they're simply lipsyncing and going through the motions of playing while the real audio is being sourced from some studio quality CD or something? To me, seeing ANY artist do that is an immediate turnoff and I almost always walk away from the TV when I see that. The only exception is if she's smokin' hot and showing a lot of her skin while she's "performing". In that case, she can suck big time, and I won't care! Hubba! Hubba! Yeah, I'm a shallow 100% heterosexual white guy. Deal with it.
